Laurent Charlet was born and educated in France and Switzerland where he received a masters in Architecture from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale in Lausanne (EPFL). He has been practicing architecture and design in New York since 1998. Although furniture design always was a strong focus in his career, it wasn´t until 2006 that Charlet actively started designing and building furniture under his own name for residential and commercial environments. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and children.

Often inspired by the practice of architecture, our custom furniture pieces are the result of a collaborative process involving client and designer, focused on achieving the perfect balance between aesthetics, functionality and craft. We constantly look for more effective and rational ways of bringing our designs to life, while keeping a close eye on quality. Research is an integral part of this creative process, leading to the development and use of materials and techniques less harmful to our environment.

We source ourselves the materials used for the fabrication of our furniture, avoiding imports of endangered wood species and controlling shipping distances and methods so as to minimize the carbon footprint of each piece, using recycled materials as often as possible.
